01.08.2008. “Lexus” and lipstick. Auto body painting.
What a pleasure is to draw fully enjoying the process without thinking about the others’ opinion, the influence on sales and other stuff and nonsense. When a child is given something that can paint or smear and a clean surface the kid will turn it all into joy and happiness which will outshine the impressionism geniuses of all times.
For some reason the majority of grown-ups prefer a severe hyperrealism.
When our permanent customer (for some reasons known only to him) offered us painting his ‘Lexus’ to look like a hippie van (perhaps in order not to be disturbed by the traffic cops) we immediately forgot about both our educations: art and not very much of art, and decorated that dull silvery grey commonness with bright colors. All participants of this performance were extremely enthusiastic about painting that elegantly cold metalware with lipsticks.
As the result we got a little bit more “humane” and kind metalware.
